Ingredients
1can tuna packed in waterdrained
1tbspmayo
1tbsponionfinely chopped
1tbspceleryfinely chopped
1tsprelishoptional
6slicesprovolone cheese
Instructions
In a small bowl mix together the drained tuna, mayo celery and onion. And add the relish if you are using. Using a fork mix all ingredients completely together.
Preheat oven to 350*. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Place provolone slices onto the parchment paper and place baking sheet in oven for about 5 minutes or until bubbly and melted. Remove from oven and set aside on kitchen counter to cool.
Turn your oven to broil.
Place about a tbsp of the tuna salad onto a corner of the melted provolone cheese squares. Place ⅙ of the tuna salad on top of the melted provolone cheese slice.
Fold the melted provolone slice over the tuna salad to create a triangle. Press all the edges together making sure the cheese edge has the chance to melt together and make a pocket.
Place baking sheet into the broiler for one minute only. Check on your Tuna Melts and watch until the cheese is starting to brown and seal with the bottom cheese.
Pull from the oven and let cool on the kitchen counter. Cool the Tuna Melts to luke warm and transfer them to a plate and serve.
These Tuna Melts are best completely cooled and stored in the fridge. Great keto finger foods and food on the go.
Notes
Parchment paper is absolutely necessary to make these little tuna melt pockets. Omit the onion, celery and relish to reduce carbs.
