DIY Taco Seasoning

Most packets of taco seasoning have added corn starch and fillers. Trader Joe’s and Primal Palate are two exceptions that are pure ingredients but you can not always run to the store when dinner needs to be on the table. Here’s a great DIY recipe to always have on hand.

  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 3 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper


  • Pour all ingredients into bowl and stir to completely combine. Store in an airtight jar with tight lid.
  • Sometimes I triple this recipe just to have on hand.
